Normally I don’t agree with Lance and I wonder why I listen because it’s like an abusive relationship where the the woman just doesn’t have the sense to leave despite the weekly beatings. I swear, Lance usually rails against the things I enjoy or embrace.
However, I agree that Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas was ace when I saw it as a child in 77 on non-cable tv and I have been occasionally hinting at my husband that it would be a good xmas gift idea for the past decade. I don’t doubt that it will lose its shine, but I love all things Henson.
That being said, my perennial xmas movies are: Scrooged, Wish for Wings That Work (Opus and Bill of Bloom County), and Jim Henson’s “Christmas Toy”.
BTW, thanks for helping me decide on the truck balls for my car. When I get the towing hitch on my Pontiac Vibe, I’ll splurge for the light-up nuts to go along with my personalized plates so I can demonstrate the douchebaggary you guys rail against. I didn’t realize that the left and right nuts would flash with the turn signals. That definitely makes it worth the extra cash.

*edit* Wikipedia tells me it aired on ABC in 1980, not 1977. My bad.
